Alfalfa Hay

Alfalfa hay is an excellent source of good quality protein and fiber. Alfalfa is a legume hay in the pea family and is sometimes called “lucerne”. These hays are higher in protein and minerals than grass hays, which is why they are mostly fed to race horses.

Grains

Cereal grains (barley, corn, wheat) are the typical “high energy” feeds for dairy goats, but they are low in protein. These are excellent sources of readily fermentable complex carbohydrates (starch) which increase the concentration of energy when included in the diet.

Snacks

Snacks throughout the day help keep our does on their toes as they just love them. Wether its bananas, cucumbers or tomatoes.
